Our summer arts camps run for two weeks beginning June 7th.  A child can
come for only one week but for the full experience we recommend two.

We have a three-fold mission:
1. To immerse children in art and expose them to many mediums
2. To teach children in a way that all have success
3. To use highly skilled teachers

A by-product of the camps is building community because we never brag about
our own work or put down someone else's.  Art is creative and thankfully we are
all able to think of good ideas.  We will laugh a lot and have a great time
experiencing art.

These camps are not for everyone.  They are for children who are positive,
curious, flexible, kind, and like to learn.  Children who are quiet, fun, loud,
happy, shy, withdrawn, silly...will all do well.  Most children love art and will love
our camps. Children will be expected to focus on their learning and obey safely
measures.

We will be teaching many things during the course of the summer. Some of the
mediums we will be working with are:  drawing, painting, soap making, balloon
art, pop-up books, clay, glass fusing, horseshoe pictures, chocolate candy
molds, tie dye shirts, water colors, weaving, and more.  We will watch glass
blowing, pottery making, lamp working and we will tour Coyote Glass Design.

Every two weeks we start a new cycle placing advanced students together so
they can learn quickly.  Therefore, a child could attend art camp at Salado Arts
Workshop all summer and continue to learn new things and experience more
difficult levels of skill development in previously explored mediums.
