Class Title: Frit Painting
Class Description
: Using ground glass in a sand like texture, the artist sifts the powdered
glass onto a thick glass panel.  Working from a drawing or a photograph, the powdered
glass frit is manipulated with a brush to create the drawing.  This forms the basis for the
kiln fired and textured art piece.  Students will make 3 projects using black and white and
colored powdered glass.  All materials will be provided.  Students should bring artwork
inspirations for 3 projects, 2  12”x12” and 1 14"x17”.  Black and white photos or photo
copies in high contrast are best, and should be both right reading and reversed.

$1000 per class with all materials included. $500 deposit will hold your place.  This is a
4 day advanced class only taught several times a year.
Maximum of 10 students.
Balance due before class begins.

Bio:  Bandhu is famous for his marble runs, animals, and easy to follow lampworking
books.  Don't miss this unique opportunity to take a marble run class from him!

Class Title: Marble Runs and more
Class Description:
This class will focus on making glass marble runs for fun and… more
fun.
Students should have at least a basic grasp of lampwork/flamework
techniques. We will work solid glass rods to sculpt whimsical
rollercoasters for marbles which you can bring or make in class. Important
technical aspects required for successful design and execution will be
presented in an easy-to-digest format. If you have a hand torch, bring it,
as it will make some of the construction easier. In the length of time
available, students will be able to make one or more simple marble runs,
and see demonstrations of more elaborate techniques to be tried at home.

Dates:   October 20-21
Days:     Thursday and Friday
Times:   9-4
Cost:      $385

Glass casting or Pate de Verre is the process in
which "cast glass" objects, either functional or
artistic, are produced by allowing molten glass to
solidify in a mould, (a process called casting). This
technique has been used since the Egyptian  period.
