CREATIVE ARTIST WHO NEEDS A STUDIO?

JEFF ZORN was born in
Vermont in 1982 and has lived in Grapevine
since 1991. He is a 2001 graduate of
Colleyville Heritage High School, where he
studied ceramics and sculpture for four years
with Toni Byam.
While at Heritage, he was honored with
membership in the CHHS chapter of the
National Art Honor Society and served as the
organization's secretary. He also received
the Senior Art Award.
As "Best of Show" winner of Coastal Bend
College's high school art competition, he
received the Barnhart Art Scholarship and
continued his art education in Beeville, TX,
studying glassblowing with Jayne Duryea
from 2001-2003.
He has taken several flameworking classes
with Christian Luginger in Amarillo at Flame
One Production, as well as with Grant and
Wil Menzies at Flow Studios in Marietta, TX.
Jeff became an apprentice at Vetro Art Glass
in Grapevine in 2003, and during this time
has been honored to be able to work with
Vetro's outstanding collection of artists, as
well as learn from Vetro's guest
glassblowers, Afro Celotto from Murano, Italy,
in 2004, and Kenji Ito from Kawasaki, Japan,
in 2005.
In the summer of 2006 he traveled to Murano
to study under Afro Celotto at his studio and
lived in Italy for a few months, where he
picked up some of the ancient Venetian
techniques.
